UNOG - UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA
Of all the international organisations established in Geneva, the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG) – which is also the second most important UN headquarters after New York – is by far the most imposing. Firstly, because of the dynamic role it plays in International Geneva, by making Geneva a hub of international cooperation in the economic and humanitarian sectors. Secondly, because of the size of the headquarters, the Palace of the Nations, originally built for the League of Nations. This is why Switzerland is so anxious to provide the best conditions possible for the UNOG. Extended over the years, the Palace of the Nations was able to build a new wing in the 70s, thanks to a loan from the FIPOI.
